Amanda Brainerd has sold residential property totaling nearly $700,000,000 for her clients since her start in the business in 2001. She is recognized among her peers as one of the most professional, creative and thoughtful agents in the industry. Amanda came to Brown Harris Stevens in 2013 with steadfast adherence to her professional philosophy: to always take the high road, to move forward and keep her eye on the ball. Her sales successes illustrate this focused attention to her clients and their goals: Annually ranked amongst the top New York City agents Has helped over 400 buyers find their new home or investment property Consistently produces over $50 Million in residential sales each year Has sold residential property totaling nearly $700,000,000 in her 17 year career Amandas skills were developed working as an architect for 10 years before her transition to real estate. As an architect, truly hearing what your client wants is not only imperative; it is the core of your job, because you must transform their vision into a functional design. It is similar in real estate sales I ask my clients what they want, and it is my job to translate that into either selling or finding them a home. Amanda graduated magna cum laude from Harvard with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, and earned her Master of Architecture degree from Columbia. Immediately following her apprenticeship with Richard Meier & Partners, she and a Columbia colleague built their own successful firm. This same dedication and tenacity has enabled Amanda to amass a loyal real estate clientele, who appreciate her strong business mind, sharp negotiating skills and sound market knowledge. A born and bred New Yorker, Amanda grew up on the Upper East Side and is an alumna of the Nightingale-Bamford School. She and her husband Charles grew up four blocks from each other on Park Avenue in Carnegie Hill, and reside there now, with their three children. Amanda speaks French, German and Italian and is a co-chair of the Council of the Phil at the New York Philharmonic and on the board of the Metropolitan Opera. On weekends she grows organic vegetables at her farm in Connecticut.
